Foxglove Beardtongue

Penstemon digitalis

Flowers white, medium-sized, tubular.

This is probably the most common of the penstemon or "beardtongues", so named due to the small hairs choking the throat of the tubular flower. Foxglove Beardtongue has large, distinctive white flowers with three lower and two upper petals; the "beard" is yellowish.
